Robert Palmer
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Robert is CEO, founder, and lead architect of the company’s products, including Capire360 for Cancer and Capire360 for ESRD. He is responsible for team and company leadership.
Robert Palmer has spent over two decades solving one of healthcare’s most persistent problems: that the outcomes data available to clinicians and patients reflects what happens to populations, not individuals. His work on that problem, from early outcomes research and enterprise sales to building the company purpose makes him one of the few people in health technology who has developed the science, sold it at the highest levels, and is now building the category around it.
Palmer began developing combined clinical and economic outcomes models in 2005 in collaboration with cardiothoracic surgeons he later worked as a researcher and consultant co- Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis developing personalized cancer care models. That work became the foundation of Capire360, PotentiaMetrics’ precision analytics engine. He served as adjunct faculty in Washington University’s Olin School of Business entrepreneurship program from 2007 to 2013. His work has been published in the Harvard Health Policy Review and recognized by GuideWell Innovation, the American Cancer Society. He has presented at McKinsey’s Annual Healthcare Conference, Predictive Analytics World Conference, South by Southwest and other forums.
His commercial track record is equally substantive. Palmer personally led and closed a national contract with UnitedHealthcare, one of the most demanding enterprise sales environments in the industry, and has completed significant engagements with Medtronic, Ascension Health, Covidien, Sorin, and multiple health systems and medical schools. He has structured and executed data-sharing agreements with hospital systems and medical schools. He has sold successfully on both the payer and provider sides of the market, which is uncommon and operationally significant for a company whose distribution strategy spans both.
The mission is personal. Palmer’s father died from metastatic prostate cancer, navigating treatment decisions without the kind of individualized outcomes information PotentiaMetrics now produces. It is why the company exists.
Palmer holds an MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business and a BS in Business Administration from Regis University. He is a former member of the Young Presidents Organization and served as Education Chair for the YPO Healthcare Network.
